okey guys! I AM BACK FROM KOTA TINGGI JC1 LEADERSHIP CAMP!!! here's the LONG story. 26th May; i packed my bag last minute in the morning. and wore my new specs! =) (got a wave of reaction from that) reached school some time after 715am. franklin cho couldn't come to kota tinggi with us because he was sick =( get well soon yea! anyway, i ended up being the Cleanliness and Food&Beverage I/C.s. 0843B was in 'C' division. We had the privilege of going first because our first activity was to climb Mount Panti! There was some mix-up in the buses in school but we were finally heading to kota tinggi with our dear instructor Saleha whom we have gotten used to calling Kak Leha =) Had some rest on the bus. The immigration checkpoints reminded me of the Trengganu trip i had in Sec3. It brought back LOADS of wonderful memories =) And so after one LONG trip, we finally reached our adventure campsite, or whatever they call it. And we put all our bags in this one large room. And had lunch! Then i went to the toilet and it was OH-SO FILTHY! like, O.M.G. woah. anyway, here comes the EXCITING part! we finally got on the bus to the foot of mount panti and started our trekking! and hiking! at 2pm lidat. And there went our cheering and singing <3 I think this activity was the one that brought out the true colours of the people in my class. my class which was counted as C8, ended up being the ones at the back of the whole 10 groups of the 'C' division. They kept stopping at certain parts and we took the chances to put down the bags we were carrying. No, not the bags we brought, but the 10 big backpacks provided where there were food and water and tentages inside. I tell you, they were VERY heavy. Some were even EXTRA heavy. So we took turns carrying it, especially the girls. And rotated among the 15 people in the class. Plus there were still the daypacks that could not be squeezed into those equipement bags. We shouted out for slippery land and mug and twigs and branches and logs for one another. We didnt eat anything at all and we were running out of water. Of course many fell a few times and some were getting pissed at little things. And we had to keep encouraging one another. Thanks Kak Leha too for constantly encouraging and pushing us that we can do it =) Being at the back, we have NO idea what the rest have gone through in front. And after the LONG climb up those rocks, we thought it was finally over. But when we turn round the bend, we saw an EXTREMELY LONG row of people climbing up a second LONG WAY UP part of it. It was like, oh my god! are we really gonna make it?? our mouths were dry, we were panting like hell, fatigue and all. They kept telling us that we're reaching soon. the next time we asked, it was still SOON. but we NEVER reached there any soon! Their soon was like HOURS more! When we heard that the 1st group had reached the summit, we were like, omg! are we near?? turns out NO! we were the last group after all and we were WAY behind. It was getting VERY dark in the forest. And when we found out we have actually reached the summit, we stopped short and got glances of the civilisation down there. OMG the clouds covering the houses and land and everything, the view was AMAZING. WOW... But we had to carry on to the campsite which was still a LONG way to go, because it was getting even darker. We just kept on going not knowing when it will end. the very last time i remembered asking it was 630pm. We could not make it on time to see the sunset after all =( But i gave up asking because it never seemed to end. and it came to a point that it was total pitch dark. Some started turning on their torchlights but we were told to get our eyes accustomed to the dark. Of course, THINGS happened. Nat and I had the same experience even though she was 5 or so people in front of me. I was getting extremely scared but i need the courage to keep on going. We just shut up about other stuffs and kept encouraging one another. It was creepy when the person in front seemed to be getting further away from you. I felt like crying, really. We just ran to catch up with each other. and when we finally reached campsite, i felt like crying for joy! time check: 830pm lidat. from 2pm plus to 830 pm lidat. IMAGINE THAT. the rest of the groups were already there. Like i said, we were the last. We couldn't pitch the tents because it was TOO DARK. So kak Leha debriefed us and we searched for branches and twigs for the cooking and we had maggie mee and baked beans. Then we had a few dutch lady milk. The food and drinks tasted SUPER delicious after the long hike up. And then we finally laid out sleeping bags and the night sky was. WOAH. AWESOME. the STARS were AMAZING! i've never seen a HELL lot of such beautiful stars before! the view would have been nicer if the trees were not covering. i laid out the sleeping bag and shared with amirah and winnie but ended sam they all came and join. haha. People were having DIARRHOEA!!! (we found out it was due to the eggs during lunch) i tried to tahan. i SO did not want to pee or shit AT ALL in the bushes. but the whole 'C' division kept shitting and the "toilet" a.k.a. bushes were near OUR sleeping spot. and we constantly sprayed the insect repellent which had a lime smell to evoke the shit smells. it was nearly 2am lidat. i couldnt tahan. told amirah and winnie and we ended up shitting too. Like, there were a HELL lot of other shits. they had to create another "toilet" for us because the land and bushes were getting "full". and we ended up talking about the shit all night till we sleep. 27th May; God knows what time we woke up but it was getting brighter and people were still shitting. Then we packed and ate our bread and had our milk and drinks and made our way down. The first part was all rocks and with our huge backpacks we slowly roped our way down. It was FUN!!! Something cropped up and my part onwards got separated from the group in front. And we, the students, had to make our way independently without any instructors or teachers at all. it was just a small group of us and there was fear that we were lost. but NO. after a LONG way, we finally heard people and we called out to them and they heard us and shouted back and we felt so BLESSED to meet up with them again! after a LONG wait for the rest again, the whole 'C' division made our way down. After trekking for god knows how long, WE FINALLY REACHED CIVILISATION!!! and after MORE trekking, we saw our adventure campsite! C8 was like HAPPILY SINGING AND CHEERING! of course ah! We never thought we'd make it! that was the GREATEST once in a lifetime experience we've ever had! i dont know what the time was. all i know that it was already mid-afternoon or some sort. We saw the other division who were supposed to climb mount panti today. We had lunch and it started raining heavily and our trip to Pelepah Waterfall was cancelled! DAMN. so change of plans. we were not staying in the resort on the 3rd night but the second night, TONIGHT! got our bags and everything. chit chatted lazed around. then we FINALLY showered after not showering since the morning of day one. We found out that the division did not end up hiking up Mount Panti because it was raining extremely heavily! And at night, we had our Night Walk. guys alone and girls in pairs. We had to walk a whole stretch of road 3 minutes long. Me and Nat were like VERY quiet during the walk. WHY do we keep having the same experience? omg... I was extremely scared and so was Nat. I just kept chanting any prayers to myself. serious. i was DEAD scared. We squeezed each other's hands all the way. When we finally reached the end, i was like EXTREMELY relieved to see a lot of people. could not see them from far in the dark. it was really really scary. got back to camp and saw the other division cooking their meals. they failed to climb mount panti. and at night at the resort, xu ning and i laid her sleeping back outside and looked up at the AMAZING view of stars. Sadly, i did not manage to catch a shooting a star =( 28th May; Next morning, we were suppose to gather at 745am. but the girls kep snoozing the alarm and ended up waking up at 730am. HAHA! was rushing to get ready. did not shower lah. After breakfast, C8 went to have a little river crusading on bouyas outside with a few other groups. It was very fun to play with water!!! but when i took off my shoe to take out my socks before going into the water, there was a HUGE cockraoach in my shoe!!! oh god. well, a lot of splashing done. haha had a lot of fun with the class! then we went to dry up and awaited lunch. After that, we went River Kayaking!!! on the way there, now that it was daytime, we realise that the stretch of road we walked for Night Walk was totally banana trees. Nat and i just looked at each other without saying anything. yes, we know... Anyway, for kayaking, im in front, Nat centre and sofie at the back. We were a great team i gotta admit. HAHAHA. OMG the kids at the side were damn irritaing. when me nat sofie shouted left right left right, they mimicked us. and i was like "pergi balik lah!". which meant go home lah! and THAT also they mimicked me. And on the way back, the people at the side were cat-calling and making those noises but we just ignored ah. Me Nat Sofie were among the first to go back and we chatted with the instructor leading and found out a LOT. woah. then we went to change. soccer jersey! haha. and we were allowed to buy food from the shops there! omg, all those crackers and sweet drinks and chocolate and ice cream tasted like HEAVEN man!! and C8 had to be the servers for dinner this time. haha so FUN! and at night we had our Firefly Expedition on engined boats. Watching the fireflies was AMAZING! it was dark, and the trees seemed to be lighted up. and we caught a few, but let them go of course. and me mir han sofie man chatted with the abang on the boat. amirah and i became the translators. haha. Found out a lot about the history of Kota Tinggi river there, and the life around there. And the GOLD they found! and LOADS more. woah. seriously, the fireflies CAPTIVATED us and we looked up and saw the LOVELY night sky with a HELL lot of beautiful stars. we went back to camp and slept in our tentages. of course we chatted outside just about anything first before finally falling asleep. 29th May; Alas! the FINAL day. i felt sad that it was gonna be over just like that. Took a lot of pictures! for memories. This camp really bonded our class together. But i think it would've been fun with nick and qing around. They're going Germany though. haha. Today we helped clean up all around. The whole J1 was there. Found out the other division didnt reach the summit either. They went up halfway then went back down again. SO...'C' division was the only ones who reached, slept, and SHITTED on the summit of Mount Panti. Like cool SHIT lah! my god, what an experience! got our camp tees and c8 got the bus with the "limousine" space at the back. we cam-whored the whole way! sorry to the others for the noise we made though. there was jam so MORE camwhore! and when we finally reached school, sofie went to kiss the school floor! Like, OMG. we never thought we'd ever make it back (alive!). It felt like it was only yesterday that we were shitting on Mount Panti. THANK YOU ASIA OUTDOOR for this great experince! and of course our instructor Saleha a.k.a. Kak Leha for her guidance =) AND Azri Zulfarhan for his whackoness in entertaining us! HAHAHA. passed my bags to dad and he gave me money and i went causeway point with amirah xuning sofie and eat Ban Mian for dinner! DELICIOUS baby! after the camp experience, i think i can shit anywhere already. It couldnt get any worse than the toilets there and even the JUNGLE and BUSHES right? Lepak with them outside civics (with azri too. heehee). chit chatted and then went home at nearly 10pm. HOME SWEET HOME. |
